Carrie Cobb Howell, 95, of the 1500 block of Clay St., died Dec. 13, 1991, in a hospital. 

Mrs. Howell was born in Southampton County. She was the widow of William Herman Howell Sr. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. 

Survivors include a son, Robert C. Howell and a stepson, William H. Howell Jr., both of Franklin; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. Reginald Warren. Friends may join the family at the home of William Howell Jr. Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements. 

Memorial donations may be made the church's building fund.
