Obituary of Marion Pierce Hughes MARION PIERCE HUGHES Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, March 22, 1999 Marion Pierce Hughes, 70, died March 21, 1999, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Born June 17, 1928, in Pulaski County, Va., he was a son of the late James Edward and Dallie Gray Hughes. Marion retired from Heileg-Myers Furniture Company after 35 years of service. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Frances Roseberry Hughes; two daughters, Catherine H. Morgan and her husband, Hamilton, of Franklin and Rebecca E. Hughes of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, James R. Hughes of Cleveland, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Jason B. Wise, Kelly W. Robinson, Sarah E. Wise and Stephanie A. Hughes. He was predeceased by a brother, Charlie D. Hughes. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Richard L. Peerey officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 405 S.
