SUFFOLK  Elvin Deacon Jakeman, 58, died Dec. 1, 2003. Born Aug. 1, 1945, in Danville, Va., he was the son of the late Elmer Thorne and Mary Elizabeth Deacon Jakeman. Elvin was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
  Survivors include his aunts, Vera Bright of Suffolk, Louise Christianson of Danville; and a number of cousins. 
  A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory by the Rev. Robert L. Parks with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
