Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - March 17, 1997 William George Jarratt Sr., 69, of the 16400 block of Southampton Parkway, departed this life to his heavenly life on March 15, 1997. Mr. Jarratt was born in Prince George County and was the son of the late Jesse Herman and Olivia Fuller Jarratt. He was a retired corrections officer for the Southampton Correctional Center. He was a member of Capron Baptist Church, Drewryville Ruritan Club and an honorary member of Capron Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Eunice J. Jarratt; two sons, William George Jarratt Jr. and his wife, Tammy, and Tony Wayne Jarratt and his wife, Jo, all of Capron; a sister, Mattie Lou Jarratt of Sussex Courthouse; a brother, Jesse L. ``Pete'' Jarratt of Franklin; and three grandchildren, Billy, Sarah and Casey. He was predeceased by a sister and three brothers, Sallie Gordon, James, Herman and Otha Jarratt. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Capron Baptist Church by the Rev. Russell Ford. Burial will be in Capron Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests that memorials be made to Capron Baptist Church.
