Obituary of Fred Robert Johnson FREDERICK ROBERT JOHNSON Virginian Pilot - 12-23-2004 ZUNI - Fred Robert Johnson, 81, died Dec. 22, 2004. Born in Norfolk, he was a son of the late Joseph H. and Annie Mae Jenkins Johnson. He was an Army veteran of World War II and worked with Columbia Porpane for more than 30 years. Mr. Johnson was a charter member of Walters ruritan Club and a member of Mount Carmel Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Margaret J. Johnson; a daughter, Ginny J. Eley and husband Robert: and a son, Robert H. Johnson and wife Sandra, all of Walters; two brothers, Mills M. Johnson and Raymond Johnson, both of Windsor; six grandchildren, Kristy Eley, Laura Eley, Blair Insley Whitney Johnson, Jessica and Michale Snead; and a great-granddaughter, Baylee Insley. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy J. Copeland; and a brother, Joseph H. Johnson, Jr. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Ruffin Alphin officiating. Burial with mililtary honors, will follow in Mount Carmel Christian Church Cemetery, Walters.
