Obituary of Henry Watkins Johnson HENRY WATKINS JOHNSON Virginian Pilot - 10-05-2000 SUFFOLK, Henry Bird Dog Watkins Johnson, 72, died Oct. 4, 2000, in Nansemond Point. Born Feb. 7, 1928, in Ivor, Va., he was the son of the late Walter Parker and Lenora Davis Johnson and widower of Evelyn M. Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a retired electrician with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Ivor Baptist Church, the Woodman of the World and Suffolk Moose Lodge No. 141. Survivors include his step-daughters, Mary Salerno and her husband, Vincent, of Suffolk, Vicki Lovett and her husband, Jeff, of Mechanicsville; cousins, Ann Copeland and her husband, Graham, of Franklin, Davis McClenney and his wife, Charlotte, of Indianapolis; three step-grandchildren, B.J. and Zack Lovett, David Salerno and his wife Angie; and one step-great-granddaughter, Ariel Joy Salerno; brother-in-law, Jesse Allsbrook and his wife, Shirley, of Suffolk; and sister-in-law, Lydia Edwards of Suffolk. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve Gupton with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday.
