Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Leo Ray Johnson; a daughter, Denise Johnson Edwards and her husband, Glenn, of Boykins; her mother, Pearl Drake Carter of Boykins; a brother, Paul Carter and his wife, Betty, of Courtland; a nephew, David Carter and his wife, Linda, of Franklin; a great-niece, Victoria Carter; her good friends, Norman and Shirley Lee, as well as Bobby and Pat Lewis. She was predeceased by her father, James Paul Carter. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Boykins Baptist Church with the Rev. Benjamin E. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin.
