Quay Road, a retired road foreman, died March 7, 1993, in Obici Memorial Hospital. Mr. Johnson was born in Boykins, Southampton County, Va., a son of the late Herbert and Nonie Fuller Johnson. He was the widower of Bertha Francis Johnson and a member of Community Baptist Church in Suffolk. He retired from T.H. Wiggins Construction Co. in 1983 after 20 years of service and was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include one son, Donald Ray Johnson of Suffolk; two brothers, Edward Johnson of Windsor and David Johnson of Hopewell; and two grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. David Nicholas and the Rev. Howard L. Vinson Jr. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.
