SUFFOLK Sarah Adminter Johnson, 86, formerly of Old Myrtle Road, died July 5, 2001 in Obici Hospital.
Born June 3, 1915 in Roxobel, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Dempsey and Annie Turner Johnson. She was predeceased by her brother, John D. Johnson. Miss Johnson was a lifelong member of Western Branch Baptist Church and the Sallie B. Powell Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her sisters, Annie Mary J. Taylor and Laura Alice J. Martin; nephews, Dempsey Martin, John Johnson, all of Suffolk, Charles W. Martin of Amelia; great-nieces, Stephanie Hawkins of Amelia and Chandra Martin of Henrico.
A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. David Jendrey and the Rev. Joseph Lang with burial in Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at 3801 Little Creek Road. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
