SMITHFIELD  Agnes Burns Garner Jordan, 88, formerly of Smithfield, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1996, in Newport News. She was a native of Isle of Wight County and a homemaker.  

  Mrs. Jordan was a member of Smithfield Assembly of God Church.  
  Survivors include a son, Shirley Warren Garner of Falls Church; one stepson, Randolph Jordan Jr. of Virginia Beach; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Bobbie Jones of Suffolk and Mrs. Jean Claude of Windsor, two sisters, Elizabeth Nyne of Virginia Beach and Florence Latimer of Clinton, N.C.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  
  A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends of Wednesday Dec. 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, and suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (Disease and related Disorders), No. 2, Suite 233, Koger Center, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
