Edith Jordan Worrell, 73, died May 14, 1998, in Nansemond Pointe, Suffolk. 

Mrs. Worrell, a native of Courtland, was the daughter of the late Noland and Ruth Norfleet Jordan. She was a homemaker and a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church. 

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William E. Worrell; two daughters, Patricia Morris of Drewryville and Mary K. Nichols of Franklin; four brothers, William H. Jordan of Suffolk, Garland C. Jordan of Hampton, Robert Jordan of Suffolk and John Jordan of Gloucester; five grandchildren, Cindy H. Councill of Franklin, Robin H. Salmon of Suffolk, William David Nichols Jr. of Carrsville, Wanda E. Parker of Suffolk, and Marlene R. Morris of Franklin; and seven great-grandchildren. 

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Rob Vaughan. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. today and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 101 W. Plume St., Norfolk, Va. 23510.
