CHESAPEAKE - Ellwood J. "Sonny" Joyner Jr., 61, of the 1800 block of Butternut Court, died Jan. 14, 2003. Mr. Joyner is survived by his son, Ellwood J. Joyner III; daughter, Ann Marie VanTichelt and husband, Mike; and three grandchildren, Bethany, Samantha and Tyler Joyner. 
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to 1976 S. Military Highway No. 74, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
