Obituary of Eunice Spivey Gay Joyner EUNICE SPIVEY GAY JOYNER Virginian Pilot  11-30-2000 WALTERS  Eunice Gay Joyner, 98, a former resident of The Village at Woods Edge in Franklin, died Nov. 29, 2000, in Winchester, Va., where she had lived for the past year with her son. Born in Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late Elisha and Martha Spivey Gay and the widow of Otis V. Joyner. She was the former assistant post master for the Walters, Va., Post Office, Mrs. Joyner was a member of Mount Carmel Christian Church and the Mount Carmel Senior Citizens. Survivors include a son, O. Vernon Joyner Jr. and wife, Mary Ruth; two grandchildren, V. Douglas Joyner and wife Roberta, and Martha Gay Joyner, all of Winchester; two great-grandchildren, Amanda Ruth Joyner and Vernon David Joyner; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Robert Bennett officiating.
