Gladys J. ``Auntie'' Carr, 84, a lifelong resident of Zuni, died April 21, 2000, in her home. She was the widow of T.M. Carr Jr. Born on June 30, 1915, she was the daughter of the late George Joyner and Hurley Mae Carr Joyner.
She was a lifelong member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Zuni, a charter member and former treasurer of the Presbyterian Women of the church.
She is survived by loving nieces and nephews, Dianne N. Stallings of Franklin, Peggy C. Frieze of Zuni, Debbie C. Braswell of Zuni, Michael T. Carr of California, Cindy C. Goodman of Zuni, Robert L. Carr of Windsor , and Thomas D. Carr of North Carolina; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by a nephew, Richard L. Carr and a sister, Luna J. Nurney.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Douglas L. Van Niel. Burial will be in Antioch Church Cemetery, Windsor .
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Easter Sunday and at other times at her residence in Zuni.
Memorial donations may be made to the Bethany Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 41, Zuni, VA 23898.
