Mrs. Joyner was a native of Isle of Wight County and was the daughter of the late Nat Davis and Virginia Bryant Jones. She was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church in Zuni and a former employee of the Zuni Presbyterian Training Center. She is survived by her husband, John Thomas Joyner; two daughters, Connie Joyner Brittle of Wakefield and Brenda Joyner Bodson of Stamford, Conn.; two sons, Larry Thomas Joyner of Hopewell and Leonard Davis Joyner of Zuni; two brothers, William Davis Jones of Petersburg and Jimmy Rogers Jones of Suffolk; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church on Sunday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Steve Bradshaw and the Rev. J. Waverly Horne. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
