Obituary of Inez Joyner Laine INEZ E. JOYNER LAINE The Tidewater News - 07-31-2003 WAKEFIELD - Inez Joyner Laine, 91, died July 28, at Waverly Healthcare Center after a long illness. Born April 18, 1912, in Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Euclid D. Joyner and Sallie F. Joyner She had worked as a clerk for Thompsons in Waverly and Brittles Grocery in Wakefield. She was a member of Sebrell United Methodist Church and was especially proud of having served as childrens Sunday school teacher for 12 years. She was known as a stylish lady and a lover of cats. Mrs. Laine was the wife of the late Stanford Jake Purnell Laine. She is survived by her nieces, Dorothy J. Cooper of Suffolk, Barbara C. Lee of Salisburg, Md., and Wanda C. Patterson of Ferndale, Fla.; several great-nieces and nephews; several half great-nephews; and a close friend, Mary Ann Epps. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Crisp, and her brother, Johnny Joyner. Graveside services will be held July 31 at 2 p.m. in Sebrell cemetery with the Rev. Alane Cameron Miles officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 840 W. Roslyn Rd., Ste. E.
