Obituary of Wilmer James LeBlanc WILMER JAMES LEBLANC Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, July 24, 2001 Wilmer James LeBlanc, 72, died Monday, July 23, 2001, in Norfolk. Mr. LeBlanc was born in Abbeville, La., a son of the late Elue and Inez Touchet LeBlanc. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church where he served as parish council president. He held a Bachelor degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, a Masters degree from University of Iowa and a Ph.D (ABD) from the University of Virginia. He was professor of Spanish, French and Speech at Paul D. Camp Community College for 27 years; was an instructor at the University of Virginia for two years; and was professor of Spanish at Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa for 14 years. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Patricia Jane Stupka LeBlanc; a daughter, Monique Michelle LeBlanc of Durham, N.C.; two sons, Jerome Paul LeBlanc of San Diego, Calif. and James Andre LeBlanc of Ferandina Beach, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy Merlo of Long Island, N.Y.; a brother, Harris LeBlanc of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Nicholas Curren LeBlanc and Katherine Ellese LeBlanc. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Jude's Catholic Church by the Rev. Father Pat Golden. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park . A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home, after which the family will receive friends.
