Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late James Edward and Lillian Wellons Butler and the widow of Harry Haynes Livesay. Retired from the Quality Control department of Union Camp Corporation where she was a paper tester, Mrs. Livesay was a charter member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 4411. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mary L. Duke and her husband, Joseph, of Suffolk; two sons, Davis Thompson and his wife, Jewel, of Sumter, S.C. and Richard Livesay and his wife, Patricia, of Newsoms; a sister, Louse B. Heath of Franklin; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruby B. Thomas, and grandson, Robbie Ellis. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Reginald Warren officiating.
