LOWDERMILK The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - September 24, 1994 Edith Mae Carter Lowdermilk, 86, a resident of Capron, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 1994, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Mrs. Lowdermilk was a native of Mount Savage, Md., and was the daughter of the late Francis and Clara Criswell Carter. Her husband was the late Lee Roy Lowdermilk. She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cumberland, Md. Survivors include a daughter, Mary D. Shuck of Kissimmee, Fla.; a son, Richard F. Lowdermilk of Capron; three granddaughters; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held in Capron Cemetery on Monday, Sept. 26, 1994, at 10 a.m. by Father Carl DeSouza. A Christian wake will be held in Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, on Sunday at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the wake service.
