Obituary of Edna Person Lowe EDNA PERSON LOWE Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 6, 2003 Edna Person Lowe FRANKLIN - Edna Person Lowe, widow of Fenton B. Lowe, died Sept. 4, 2003 at her home. Born in Southampton County on Dec. 28, 1914, she was an active member of High Street United Methodist Church for more than 60 years where she was a choir member and member of the Louise Pace Matthews Circle. She was a former member and past president of the Franklin Woman's Club and member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Survivors include two sons, Frederick B. Lowe and wife Nancy of Virginia Beach and James P. Lowe and wife Jane of Southampton County; four grandchildren, Mark Lowe of Southampton County, Margaret Mendoza of Whittier, Calif., Dawn Hinkle of Franklin and Susan Toleos of Essex, Mass.; five great-grandchildren, John Hinkle, Andrew Lowe, Ashten Hinkle, Haley Lowe and Annie Toleos; two brothers, Maurice A. Person of Virginia Beach and James E. Person of Suffolk; and her caregiver and companion of several years, Viola Powell. A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at High Street United Methodist Church, 301 West First Ave., Franklin. Burial will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery .
