Johnnie Mae Gay, 84, of the 1200 block of Oleander Ave., died Nov. 13, 1999, in a local hospital. 

She was born in Arkansas and was the widow of Leroy Gay. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 

Survivors include a son, Johnny N. Gay Sr. and his wife, Mary Lou Gay, of Chesapeake; a brother, Clarence Nelson of Sun Valley, Calif.; a grandson, Johnny N. Gay Jr. of Chesapeake; two granddaughters, Windy Lou Gonier and Bobbie Lou Curry, both of Chesapeake; two nieces; and three nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Windsor , Va., by James Walton. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
