Obituary of James Franklin "Jimmy" Marks JAMES F. MARKS Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - April 26, 2002 James Franklin "Jimmy" Marks, 70, died April 23, 2002, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late Edward L. "Bill" Marks Jr. and Bessie Kitchen Marks. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, he was retired from Southampton Correctional Center. Mr. Marks was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Barham and husband Tommy of Capron and Wanda Brady and husband Bob of Rincon, Ga.; two sons, Dwayne Marks and wife Nancy and Neal Marks and wife Kim, all of Courtland; two sisters, Shirley McBroom of Fredericksburg and Patsy Cox of Franklin; eight grandchildren, Chris Barham, Brooke Barham, Allison, Kyle and Andy Harville, Kelly and Brian Marks and Jordan Marks. He was predeceased by a sister, Anne Nixon and a brother, Edward L. "Billy" Marks III. A graveside funeral with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Capron Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Renfrow officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Phyllis and Tommy Barham, 22574 Main St., Capron, and suggests that memorials be made to the Courtland Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
