wObituary of Edward Allen Mason Sr. EDWARD ALLEN MASON SR The Tidewater News - obit dated 04-07-2005 IVOR - Edward Allen Mason Sr., 75, died April 2 at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. He was a native of Highland Springs, and was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Mason and Lelia Virginia West Mason. Mr. Mason was a member of Ivor Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and was a member of Bent Barrel Hunt Club. Mr. Mason retired from Newport News Shipyard where he worked for 48 years as a pipe fitter. Survivors include his wife, Elma Bryant Mason of Ivor; daughter, Teresa Mason Bracey and husband Donald of Ivor; two sons, Edward Allen Mason Jr. and wife Janie of Ivor, Douglas Wayne Mason and wife Judi of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Jackson Mason of Hampton; one sister, Emily Pauline Massie of Bedford; and a number of niece and nephews. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Earl T. Mason and Leon Mason. Funeral services were conducted April 6 at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, with the Rev. Steve Gupton officiating. Interment followed in Ivor Cemetery.
