Eugenia ``Jean'' McKinney Collins, 78, of Forest Pine Apts., died Dec. 16, 1997, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Collins was born in Lawrenceville, Va., and was the daughter of the late Joseph Warren and Maude Smith McKinney. She was retired from Union Camp Corp. and was a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church and its Women's Circle.
Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Robert ``Bobby'' E. Collins who died Aug. 7, 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Gardner, and her husband, Warren, of Colonial Heights and Roberta ``Rosie'' Rogers, and her husband, John, of Portsmouth; two sisters, Ruth Orndoroff of Arlington, Va., Minnie Doleman of Portsmouth; a brother, Irvin McKinney of Broadnax; seven grandchildren, David W. Gardner, Carol G. Gee, Lori G. Hayes, Sandra ``Jeanie'' Steffensen, Merle Rickon Holt Jr., Robert Michael Holt and Julie Holt Fox; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Audra Ellen Holt, and a grandson, Michael Edward Lang.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. James Lambeth with burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Franklin Presbyterian Church, 405 Lee St., Franklin, Va. 23851.
