Lucille Miles Beckett, wife of Phillip Beckett, a native of Carrsville, Va., and daughter of the late Reuben Lee and Lulyan Miles, died Sunday, April 9, 2000.
Mrs. Beckett was a graduate of Mary Washington College. She taught in Nansemond and Isle of Wight counties, as well as in Calais, Maine.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Phillip Beckett and his wife, Eva, of Calais, and three grandsons; a brother, Wilson Miles of Hertford, N.C.; two sisters, Virl Cox Waterfield of Smithfield and Christine Miles Spivey of Franklin; eight nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Carrsville, Va.
