 Virginia Moore Knight, 86, died Saturday, May 23, 1998, at Waverly Healthcare Center. 
Born Sept. 9, 1911, she was the daughter of Walter Raleigh and Jennie Owen Moore. Her husband was the late Stanley E. Knight. A member of Boykins Baptist Church, she graduated from Boykins High School and attended Chowan College. 
She is survived by a brother, Russell Freeman Moore of Westminster, Colo.; four nephews, Richard C. Moore Jr. of Wakefield, Austin N. Moore of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Russell F. Moore Jr. of Arvada, Colo., and Thomas Owen Moore of Houston, Texas; a niece, Laurel A. Moore of Littleton, Colo. 
She was predeceased by two brothers, Austin Everette Moore and Richard Clement Moore Sr. 
A graveside service will be held in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the day of the service at Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Richard and Jessica Moore, 136 W. Main St., Wakefield. Memorial donations may be made to Boykins Baptist Church.
