Obituary of Arthur Lee "Dingle" Nurney ARTHUR LEE NURNEY Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - June 25, 2000 Arthur Lee ``Dingle'' Nurney, 72, formerly of Windsor, died June 23, 2000, in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. Mr. Nurney was a native of Isle of Wight County and a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Lou Ellen Upton Nurney; daughter, Linda N. Lathrop; son, Arthur Lee Nurney Jr. and his fiancee, Teresa Ayers, all of Suffolk; three sisters, Mildred Nurney and Mary Jane N. Pippins, both of Suffolk, and Ethel N. Harris of Windsor; four brothers, John D. Nurney and James ``Buck'' Wilber Nurney, both of Windsor, Jack ``Dick'' R. Nurney and Raleigh ``Pete'' Rae Nurney, both of Smithfield; and four grandchildren, Crystal Lathrop, Jonathan Lathrop, Raymond Nurney and Gary Groves. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Windsor Cemetery with the Rev. Carter Dey officiating. The family will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday at Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, for the procession. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, VA 23439.
