Douglas Allen Nutt, 31, died of heart failure in Virginia Beach General Hospital on Dec. 4, 1998. Allen was a graduate of Franklin High School and was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. 

Allen is survived by his wife, Monica Stewart Nutt; his parents, Wells Edward and Mary Ellen Woodburn Nutt of Franklin and Wayne, N.J.; two sisters, Sandra Diane Williams and Angela Karen Nutt, both of Franklin; three nieces, Whitney, Tiffany and Alexa; one nephew, Trevor; and his paternal grandfather, William E. Nutt of Alexandria. 

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Franklin Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Roy E. DeBrand and the Rev. Sharon E. James officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army, 203 W. 19th St., Norfolk, Va. 23517 or The Children's Center, 700 Campbell St., Franklin, Va. 23851.
