Mary Georgie OBerry Jones, 98, of 113 Clay Street died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002 in Riverside Convalescent Center. She was a native of Isle of Wight County, a homemaker and served as a pastors wife for 45 years. She was a member of Pine Grove Assembly of God Church.
Her husband, Rev. Horace Bernard Jones and sons, Elbert P. Jones and Horace G. Jones, Sr. preceded Mrs. Jones in death. She was the daughter of the late George Frank and Annie Blanc Oberry.
Survivors include; two daughters, Frances W. Jones, Smithfield and Madeline J. Clark, Detroit, MI; two sons, Rev. Norfleet R. Jones, Elyria, Ohio and Robert W. Jones, Ivor; Special daughter-in-law, Betty S. Jones, Smithfield; four sisters, Ruth O. Slye, Newport News, Florrie O. Lee, Hopewell, Grace O. Stephenson, Windsor and Doris O. Martin, Newport News; one brother, William OBerry, Windsor; ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002 in Colonial Funeral Home with Rev. Alton Hinson officiating. Burial will follow in St. Lukes Memorial Park, Smithfield. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association. In Memory of Mary OBerry Jones, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Virginia 23058 or Multiple Sclerosis Society, Hampton Roads, Chapter, P.O.
