COURTLAND - Joanne T. Evans, 52, of Wakefield Road, died June 27, 2002. Born May 15, 1950 in Hampton, she was the daughter of Catherine Mingee Outten of Virginia Beach and the late William E. Outten. She was a member of Baylake United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. 
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, James Taylor Evans; sons, Troy Taylor, his wife, Carol, and James E. Evans, all of Virginia Beach; daughter, Ashley Evans of Virginia Beach; and brothers, Roddy Outten of Tappahannock, Billy Outten, Keith Outten, both of Virginia Beach, and Kenneth Outten of Chesapeake. 
A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Kay Bristow Gentry. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Suffolk, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Following the service, the family and friends will gather at the mother's home, 5217 Southlake Road, Virginia Beach.
