MILDRED OVERBY BRYANT

Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - June 28, 1998

 Mildred Overby Bryant, 65, a former long-time resident of Boykins, died Saturday, June 27, 1998, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. 
She was the widow of Irvin Wingate Bryant Jr. and the daughter of the late Russell Clinton and Lucille Ann Gay Overby. Mrs. Bryant retired as the receptionist for Harvey K. Thompson, D.D.S. in Franklin. She was a member of Boykins United Methodist Church, The Tarrara Women's Club, and an adjunct member of High Street United Methodist Church, Franklin. 
Mrs. Bryant is survived by her daughter, Judy Bryant Belcher, her husband, Jim, and two grandsons, Scott Bryant of Franklin, and Wesley Shelton Story of Drewryville. She was the mother of the late Patsy Bryant Story. 
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with the Rev. Edward Johnson and the Rev. John Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins, and at other times at the residence of Jim and Judy Belcher, 22476 Stacey's Place, Franklin. Memorial donations may be made to The Children's Center, 700 Campbell St., Franklin, Va. 23851 or The Franklin Chapter of The American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs Ruth Petty, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin, Va. 23851.
