Martha Walter Cox Ownby, 69, of 4368 Cox St., died Sunday July 16, 1995 at her home. 
Mrs. Ownby was a native of Isle of Wight County and was the widow of Ronald Bryant Ownby. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. 
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy O. Blythe and Theresa O. Curnutte; one sister, Mary Louise C. Carr, all of Walters; four grandchildren, Dane U. Blythe of Virginia Beach, Dina B. Bulls of Walters, A. Trent Blythe of Suffolk and Heather M. Clark of Walters; and one great-granddaughter, Lindsay Cox Bulls of Walters. 
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 1995, at the Mt. Carmel Christian Church Cemetery by Rev. Robert Bennett. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and at other times at the residence and suggest memorials be made to the Mt. Carmel Christian Church Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, Walters, Va., 23315.
