John Henry Panton, 85, of the 400 block of Norfleet St., the retired owner of Panton and Lackland Store, died March 13, 1991, in a hospital. 

Mr. Panton, a native of North Carolina, was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Grace Harrell Panton. 

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. 

The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Revs. John Siegle and Robert Fridley. Friends may join the family at the residence Saturday. Wright Funeral Home is handling arangements. 

Memorial donations may be made to the church.
