Obituary of Emily Kitchen Parker EMILY KITCHEN JONES PARKER The Tidewater News - 04-06-2000 ††DOVER, DEL. - Emily Kitchen Parker, 92, died April 2, in Milford, Del. ††Born Dec. 5, 1907, in Courtland, she was the daughter of Ulysses and Carrie Bryant Kitchen. She and her first husband, Lawrence Paul Jones, were married for 27 years. He died in 1962. Emily married Conrad Herring Parker in 1973 and lived in Princeton, N.C., until his death in 1993. Thereafter, she made her home in Dover. ††Throughout her life she served her churches, communities and families with love and devotion. She remained a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star Emporia Chapter No. 46 and Selma Chapter No. 209, where she served in numerous stations. ††Mrs. Parker is survived by a son, Donald Lawrence Jones of Emporia; a daughter, Elizabeth Jones Inge of Dover; two stepdaughters, Joyce Parker of Raleigh, N.C., and Linda Pittman of Princeton; a sister, Virginia Kitchen Taylor; two brothers, Alfred Benjamin Kitchen and Hubert Reginald Kitchen, all of Franklin; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. ††A funeral will be held at noon, April 8, at Owen Funeral Home, Jarratt, with the Rev. Robert E. Jones officiating.
