Sarah O'Berry Parker, 79, of Statesville Road, a homemaker, died March 20, 1993, in Courtland Health Care Center.  

Mrs. Parker was a native of Southampton County and the widow of Joseph Thomas Parker. She was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church.  

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Carolyn Matthews of Newsoms and Marilyn Gwendolyn Bertrand of Richmond; six grandchildren, Carl Matthews, Trip Harrell, Scott Bertrand, Gwen Johnson, Debbie Matthews and Sarah Bertrand; and three great-grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Kelsey Johnson and Eli Matthews.  

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, by the Rev. Charlene Beethovan. The family will be at the McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Contributions may be made to Barnes United Methodist Church or Boykins Volunteer Rescue Squad.
