She was financial Secretary and Treasurer of the Building Fund at Liberty Spring from 1957 to 1958. She was a member of the Official Board and Finance Building Committee of the church. She was the daughter of the late James Philip Duke and Martha Deborah Howell Duke and predeceased by three sisters, Jamie Parker, Helen Duke and Nellie Horton. Survivors include a daughter, Deborah P. Farrell of Nags Head, N.C.; a son, Graxton A. Pearce, Jr. of Suffolk; grandchildren Nathan Pearce, Jonathan Farrell, Ashley Pearce, Brandon Farrell and Dristen Pearce; and a sister, Katherleene H. Rountree of Suffolk. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Liberty Spring Christian Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
