Obituary of Dennis Elmer Perry Jr. DENNIS ELMER PERRY JR. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, October 24, 1999 Dennis Elmer Perry Jr., 71, died Oct. 22, 1999, at his home. He was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Wilmington, N.C., a son of the late Dennis Elmer and Margie Ward Perry. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict. He retired as a machine tender on the No. 4 paper machine after 38 years of service with Union Camp Corp. and enjoyed his nine years of retirement. He was a member of Old Ford Christian Church in Washington, N.C. A loving husband and wonderful father, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy ``Dot'' Darden Perry; three daughters, Eleanor P. Schwartz and her husband, Raymond Powell, Rhonda A. Perry and Donna P. Outland and her husband, Carl, all of Carrsville; two sons, Dennis M. ``Mike'' Perry and Charlie E. ``Chuck'' Perry, both of Carrsville; two sisters, Hazel McClaughlin of Oviedo, Fla., and Joyce Barney of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Lewis Perry; five grandchildren, Russell Schwartz, Bryce Perry, Barrett Perry, Lyndsay Outland and Taylor Outland. He was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor M. Perry and Ethel P. Gomer. A graveside funeral with military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the American Legion, Armory Drive, Franklin.
