Obituary of Guy Carr Picot GUY CARR PICOT Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - February 25, 2004Guy Carr Picot, 93, died Feb. 23, 2004, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Richmond. A native of Como, N.C., he was a son of the late Guy Carlton and Rosalind Darden Picot. Guy was a retired district manager for Citizens Home Insurance Co. He was a member, former deacon and former chairman of the Board of Ushers of Franklin Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Alice Newsome Picot; a daughter, Margaret "Becky" Picot Otey and husband, Melvin, of Richmond; a grandson, Ross Otey and wife, Julie of Chesterfield County; two great-grandchildren, Virginia and Nathaniel Otey; and three nieces, Betty Lou Jordan, Patsy Reeve and Sister Mary Rosalind Picot. A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. A. Richard Childress and the Rev. Dr. Ira D. Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhorn Cemetery, Como, N.C.
