Obituary of Jon Gilbert Pieart JON GILBERT PIEART Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, April 14, 2004 Jon Gilbert Pieart, 60, passed away April 12, 2004, in his home from complications of lymphoma. He was born July 11, 1943, in Davenport, Iowa, to the late James and Evelyn Marten Pieart. Jon graduated from East Des Moines High School in 1961 and was employed by Computer Sciences Corporation as a functional analyst in Chester, Va. Jon retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army. He served his country proudly and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Jon was cherished and loved as a wonderful husband and father. His wish was that all dads would spend time with their children. He always put his loved ones first and practiced strong Christian values. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 25 years, Carole Rose Pieart; his 14-year-old daughter, Amanda, both of Franklin; his son, Robert M. Pieart and wife Tammy, his two grandchildren, Samantha and Logan, all of Polk City, Iowa; a loving cousin, Frances Bolton of Colfax, Iowa; a special sister-in-law, Lori Caldwell and husband Rick and special niece Nicole, all of Franklin. A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Holland and the Rev. Patrick Coffey officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in memory of Jon to the Lymphoma Association, 2101 Executive Drive, Box 21, Hampton, VA 23666.
