Obituary of Grace Hines Pierce GRACE HINES PIERCE Virginian Pilot - 08- 06-2003 SUFFOLK - Grace Hines Pierce, 82, died Aug. 5, 2003 in Obici Hospital. Born Jan. 15, 1921 in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Percy D. and Grace Bradshaw Hines and widow of Raymond Stanley Pierce. Mrs. Pierce was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church and was an amateur artist who won several ribbons for her pastels. Survivors include her daughters, Grace P. Rackley of Columbia, Md., Peggy Anne Thomas and husband Keith of Midlothian, Va.; son, Raymond Stanley Pierce, Jr. of Portsmouth; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Western Branch Baptist Church by the Rev. David M. Jendrey followed by burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in in R.W. Baker & Co.
