He was a native of Isle of Wight County. Pierce had retired as a farmer. He was a member of Antioch Congregational Christian Church, Isle of Wight County. Pierce was the oldest member of the Windsor Ruritan Club. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Byrd Pierce: a daughter, Anne C. White of Portsmouth; a sister, Ethel Pierce of Windsor; a granddaughter, Jennifer Wagner of Burlington, Vt.; four grandsons, Ronald Williams of Virginia Beach, Chris Williams and Gerald Williams, both of Portsmouth, and Rick Williams of Sommers, N.Y.; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. by the Revs. Victor Hunter and Donald Woodby in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Antioch Congregational Christian Church Cemetery.
