Sudie Piland Spencer, 78, of the 2400 block of Lakewood Lane, died Feb. 2, 2000.
A native of Harrellsville, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Lynn Piland and Annie Laura Hurdle Piland and the widow of Henry Martin Spencer. She was a homemaker and a member of Windsor Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia M. Spencer of Chesapeake; a son and daughter-in-law, Martin L. and Martha Spencer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and a sister, Maggie P. Hayes of Crewe, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Basil Ballard. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery . Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Donations may be made to Obici Hospital, Special Care Unit, 1900 N. Main St., Suffolk VA 23434.
