Mr. Pinter was born in Gary, W. Va., and resided in New York City most of his life. He was the son of the late John and Rosa Pinter. Mr. Pinter was an Army veteran of World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was Catholic. Survivors include one daughter, Vanessa A. Pinter of Sutherlin, Va.; three sisters, Rose P. Simiklose and Julia Pinter, both of Burlington, N.C., and Hazel Blick of Courtland . A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Riverside Cemetery , Courtland .
