Miss Helen Claire Pittman, 72, a former resident of Ivor, died on Sunday, Jan. 15, 1995, at John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell. 

Miss Pittman was a native of Ivor and was the daughter of the late Ernest Waverly and Mabel Williams Pittman. She was a Baptist. 

She is survived by four sisters, Virginia P. Rich of Tucson, Ariz., Margaret P. Eggleston of Wakefield, Gladys P. Beale and Kathryn P. Saunders, both of Ivor; a brother, Joseph E. Pittman of Waverly; and several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Ivor Cemetery by Dr. H. Edgar Twine. The family will receive friends at the residence of Kathryn P. Saunders, 8345 Bell Ave., Ivor. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is handling arrangements.
