Constance Road, died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999. ††Born in Wilson, N.C., she was predeceased by her husband, Wayland Thomas Pond, Jr. ††Mrs. Pond was a graduate of Peace College, Raleigh, N.C., and attended the New York School of Fine and Applied Arts, New York, N.Y. ††She was a member of West End Baptist Church for 59 years, a charter member of the Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society and a former member of the Nansemond River Garden Club and the Suffolk Book Club. ††She is survived by a son, Wayland Thomas Pond III; three daughters, Mary Lawrence P. Harrell and her husband, John C. Harrell, Katherine P. Beneke and her husband, John P. Beneke II, all of Suffolk, and Eliza P. Rainey and her husband, James E.
