Robert Ashton ``Bobby'' Pretlow Jr., 86, formerly of Franklin, died May 19, 1999. 

He was born Nov. 6, 1912, in Southampton County, a son of the late Robert Ashton and Jane Dickson Bogart Pretlow. He was retired from Admiralty Sales Corp. and was a member of Rotary International. He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Franklin. 

Survivors include three sons, Dr. William Pretlow of Phoenix, Ariz., Dr. Robert Pretlow III of Redmon, Wash., and Thomas Pretlow of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Evelyn Rutledge of Coral Gables, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Catherine, Margaret and Robert. 

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the. Rev. Edmund Pickup. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
