Feb. 19, 1994, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. Mr. Priggen was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and was the widower of Flossie Kirkland Priggen. He had retired as office manager of Hancock Peanut Co. in Courtland and was a former salesman with Virginia-Carolina Chemical Company and H.J. Heinz Baby Foods. He was a faithful member of Courtland Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, trustee, and superintendent of Sunday School. Mr. Priggen was an avid pianist and enjoyed playing for the Men's Bible Class and Sunday worship services for many years. He was a former member and president of the Courtland Ruritan Club. Survivors include one son: George Kirkland Priggen, and two grandchildren: Christopher D. Priggen and Shannon N. Priggen, all of Collinsville, Va. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 1994, in the Courtland Baptist Church by Dr. Gary R. Powell and Rev. David Blakely. The burial will be in Riverside Cemetery . The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and at other times at the residence.
