Thelma Harcum died July 30, 2004, in the Bay Health Medical Center in
Dover. She was 85 years old.
Born in Wallace, N.C., Mrs. Harcum was the daughter of the late Levie
Thomas Rackley and Lula Holmes English Rackley. Her husband, Herman
Ellis Harcum, died May 1975. She had retired in 1984 as a quality
assurance inspector for Union Bag Camps (International Paper).
Mrs. Harcum is survived by a daughter, Martha Harcum Watson of Denton,
Md.; a sister, Alma R. Kidd, formerly of Florence, S.C., and presently
of Denton; a brother, Allen T. Rackley of Norfolk; two granddaughters,
Suzanne Watson and her fiance, Steve Cahall, of Denton and Stephanie
Watson and her husband, Greg Kenney Sr., of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a
grandson, StevEd R. Watson II of Salisbury, Md.; and two grandchildren,
Greg Alan Kenney Jr. and Jesse Neal Forbes.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Southampton
Memorial Park , Route 1, South Quay Road, Franklin, Va. There will be a
viewing/visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home, P.A.,
12 South Second St., Denton.
