Obituary of Robert A. "Buck" Rawlings Jr. ROBERT A. RAWLINGS JR. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, October 19, 2003 Robert A. "Buck" Rawlings Jr., 75, died Oct. 18, 2003 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Born in Sussex County, he was the son of the late Robert A. Rawlings Sr. and Dorothy Clements Rawlings and the widower of Irma Babb Rawlings. In 1958, Buck, along with his wife, founded Rawlings Mechanical Corporation in Courtland . He was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church and was an Army veteran. Survivors include two sons, Glenn B. Rawlings and his wife, Sarah of Franklin and Steve C. Rawlings and his wife Carolyn of Bradenton, Fla.; one sister, Joyce R. Parker and her husband Robert of Suffolk; and six grandchildren, Leslie Rawlings, Brandon Rawlings, Anna Rawlings, Babb Rawlings, Ryan Rawlings and Justin Rawlings. Mr. Rawlings was also predeceased by a son, Paul Boyd Rawlings and a brother, Shelton L. Rawlings. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in Courtland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kay Barstow Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m today at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and other times at the home of Glenn and Sarah Rawlings, 101 Crescent Drive.
