Born in Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Annie Siske Hooker and the widow of William Jasper Rhodes Sr. Mrs. Rhodes was a retired nurse from Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was a 50-year member of the Franklin Woman's Club, a member of the Southampton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, High Street United Methodist Church and its Louise Pace Matthews Circle. Survivors include a daughter, Jean R. Boone of Chesapeake; two sons, William J. Rhodes Jr. and his wife, Gene, of Franklin and James E. Rhodes of Richmond; four grandchildren, Katy R. Walden, Kimberly M. Rhodes and W. Scott Boone, all of Virginia Beach, and Elizabeth Noel of Seaford, Va.; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Carolyn Phillips Rhodes. A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Edward C. Johnson officiating.
